HAPPY BIRTHDAY AXL!!!!

Today is Axl's 47th birthday. I considered sending a card, but thought better of it. I would think it would be creepy to get bday cards at your house from people you've never met.

I wonder how he'll celebrate? Is he staying in with friends? Is he out of town? Is he freaking out that he's almost 50? I only say that because I am 10 years his junior and the thought that 40 is right around the corner makes me well, feel like I'm older than dirt.

If only I had some readers. If I did, I would have encouraged us to make youtube birthday messages to Axl. Not only is it a nice thing to do, but my thought was it would get the band some much needed press. The album keeps dropping on the charts and it's a damn shame because I think it's brilliant.
Anyway, happy birthday Mr. Rose. May this year bring you much happiness and success.

And Just for Fun.... How to draw Axl

If you try it, send me your drawing and I'll happily post it. I may try it myself.

"How to draw Axl Rose".....Who knew the internet held such possibilities.
Step by Step Instructions found here:

Sweet Child O' Die?

Look what I found....

Story goes as follows, photographer lived a few houses down from Axl and Erin Everly back in the early 90's. Axl & Erin were known to have very volatile disagreements (read: big ass fights). On one occasion, Axl obvioulsy felt the need to let the neighbors, and anyone else driving by, know how he felt about his wife (see photo).
Please follow this link to see more of the photographer's work and to read the original article...

Axl's Prison Issued Badge Can Be Yours!!

I frequently search ebay for Axl/Guns related items. Mostly because I'm trying to find this killer Paul Frank handbag with Axl on it, but that's neither here nor there.

Check out what I came across last week. If I win lotto, maybe I'll buy it. I asked my husband to buy it for me, but he declined. Sheesh!

Follow the link to place your bid... it only starts at $2400. Such a deal!

Update: I'll post a picture of the badge soon, blogspot is having some type of internal error. Damn you!
Update#2: Picture posted....

Chinese Democracy Takes the Gold

Chinese Democracy is now officially a gold record. They've reached 500k sold in 5 weeks. None too shabby, especially with little promotion.

Nice way to bring in the New Year boys.

No Tour, or Maybe?

It seems that Richard Fortus was misquoted. The GnR camp is now correcting the earlier statement that there would be a two-year tour. Instead, they're now saying, there's no tour, or there may be a tour, but it won't be two years long.

In addition, it seems Axl's assistant/housekeeper's son posted a message on the GnR forums that the video for "Better" was being held up by Lars Ulrich. That like Richard's quote is being denied by the GnR camp, stating it was a joke and never meant to be taken seriously.
Read more about it below:
“I never said that Guns N’ Roses would be playing St. Louis, nor did I say that we will be doing free shows or that we are starting a two-year tour in March,” he said in a statement to Blabbermouth. “Selective hearing. Never said it."
According to Rolling Stone, Fernando Lepeis also denied saying the band’s new video is being held up thanks to ongoing litigation with Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich even though he said just as much hours before hand.

Dave Navarro loves Chinese Democracy...

Ok, usually I think Dave Navarro is kind of a douchebag, but for once he has something interesting to say. Blabbermouth is reporting that apparently a fan asked Dave via his website if he had listened to Chinese Democracy and what he thought about it. Dave had the following to say...
"I have to say that I pretty much love it. The way I have been describing it has been 70% awesome and 30% really weird, but after a few listens the weird becomes awesome again. I don't know if it's the songs or the fact that I just enjoy hearing that guy's [Axl Rose] voice or both, but I am a fan. "
